Natalie Baker became an expert portraitist and landscape painter based in New York City. She attended Camp Lenore and received honors at Radcliffe College. She painted with major artists such as Kuniyoshi, Rachael Soyer, George Grosz, Reginald Marsh and Hans Hofmann. Natalie Baker was so inspired by Hans Hofmann’s work that she spent the summer of 1958 at Hans Hofmann's studio where she used his methods of painting as a guiding force. To the right, is a picture of her working in Hofmann's garage. She was one of the founding members of Mamaroneck artist guild and a life time member of the Art Students League of New York.
